Why is a compass better than a map in today's world?

The compass orients people to the coordinates and indicates a course or direction even in forests, deserts, seas and open, unsettled terrain. As the territory changes, the map becomes obsolete; in times of rapid change, a map may be dated and inaccurate by the time it's printed. Inaccurate maps are a frustration for people who are trying to find their way or navigate unchartered waters.

Many of our youth are navigating in uncharted waters today. No existing map accurately describes their new terrain. To get anywhere very fast, they need clear channels of thinking. Although a map provides description, the compass provides vision and direction. It becomes the foundational development for what the map will look like, when they get to their final destination!

Our recommendation is that they exchange a map for a compass. The Lifefaqs Foundation believes our educational content in training them up in the way they should go provides a unique foundation of life skills. By developing understanding in areas of decision making, leadership, communication and interpersonal behavior, we will better equip emerging generations for successful navigation of their life choices and outcomes. Our mission is to train emerging generations on how to navigate by a compass calibrated to a set of fixed, true north principles and natural laws that are tried and true over time.
