LifeFAQs is proud to announce a $1,000 scholarship to a successful NLHS candidate. This scholarship is given in her name by her husband, Tom Miyashiro, in her remembrance and in honor of her family.
Teacher Reference Form
Our aim is to partner with teachers at NLHS and give this award away together. Since teachers know their students best, LifeFAQs seeks to rely on the references of teachers to select the most worthy candidates.
The Amy Ford Miyashiro Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Amy Ford Miyashiro, who passed away at the age of 27 from a rare form of brain cancer. Amy was from England and she had a passion for science. She worked as a production chemist after completing university for only a few short years before contracting the illness. Through this scholarship, Amy’s memory will not only live on, but will intersect with the life of a developing student who is reaching to fulfill their God-given potential.
